crank, no start
I'm new to civics, I have a 94 civic ex coupe, it has a d16z6, 5spd man. I ran into a problem with the car, I have a crank, no start on the car now, me and a friend of mine narowed down the problem to the distributor and not a timing belt issue, I checked for power at the ign. coil with a volt meter and it got power, now comes my question, since the cap and rotor looked ok, is there anything else like a cam or crank sensor that I should know about or look for that may be causing this problem as opposed to anything located in the distributor? Any possitive feedback would be appreciated.
nm, I noticed a FAQ thread in an above post, I checked out that link and I forgot about checking the ignitor, I'm gonna check that too and see what happens, if thats not it I'll add to this post.
It isn't the ignitor, rotor or distributor, and I was getting power to the coil, both ends, could the coil still be bad, or is there something else I should check. I'm at my last string of patience here guys, could definately use any help possible.
I had the same problem with my Accord last week, spent a couple of days trying to figure it out. I had power at the coil and checked it with an ohmmeter. The readings I got with the ohmmeter were close to spec in the Hanes manual but after talking to a mechanic he told me they didn't mean squat. He was right, after loaning me a coil the car started. Been working great since.
