crazy idleing problems

Default crazy idleing problems

Im definetly new to hondas and lateley i have a bunch of people askin me if i can fix a problem with their car, my home boy has a 93 honda civic 1.5 4 door 5 speed with an intake and exhaust, the car from the point where you start it to the point u shut it off in nuetral or when the clutch is in it will wind all the way to rev limiter and back down rhythmically justy up and down up and down its soooooo annoying i want to put a bullet in the car i have no idea wuts up with this one man the only time the car some what behaves is when ur in second gear and up, in first the car jolts back and forth like when someones first learnming how to drive a sticmk its really funny, oh another thing when in second or third gear the car will start accelerating by itself no need to pusg the go pedal it just has a mind of its own, im not sure wheather it vacume,compession,electrical, or if the thing is just possessed. some one please hook me up with some diagnostic tips to help me find out the problem or if this has happened to you and u know the problem hook me up please im loosing my hair and im only 18 all help is appreciated thanx.

thats really weird. i cant think of anything except maybe the throttle position sensor, but that doesnt sound quite typical. but thats where i would start.

is the check engine light on? remember .......autozone gives free diagnosis.

oh yeah, does it do it when the throttle is closed? it seems to me that it should be able to rev that high with it closed, so you may want to check for a problem in that too.

it has no check engine light and it does it with nothing n e where near the throttle (pedal), if thats what you mean by the throttle being closed, its like the c ar has a mind of its own btw when the car is reving and everything the throttle cable butterfly isnt even moving. i am totally stumped on this one [sm=dontgetit.gif]

inspect the TB, there almost has to be a problem with it. it must be leaking or something because it shouldnt supply enough air to rev very high without opening somehow.

My crazy idle was due to being off timing... get a timing light for kicks and check it, if your on TDC then thats one thing u can rule out, if ur on TDC try unpluging ur TPS sensor and plug it in it may help, it may not ... lol
