EG rack and pinion

RE: EG rack and pinion
I try to maximize picture size and resolution for readability, so sometimes I can only fit one picture per post due to the 400 kb limit. I upload the maximum possible number of pics per post without altering logical page order. Just trying to help out. If I need to change any of my practices, please let me know.

RE: EG rack and pinion
Another question, guys-
I don't know if anyone else here hasabused their car this way...but after some more thought about it, and looking under the car again, I am wondering if there may be an easier way to get her back on the road.
First a little background. I was doing 15-20 mph when I hit the curb. I could tell right away that the alignment was jacked. I pulled over and did a quick inspection, and didn't see any obvious damage other than that. I drove the car to work, then back home (with my steering wheel cocked about 10 degrees). The PS still felt fine. The next morning, my PS fluid was on the garage floor.
I can see that the fluid came out of the rubber boot on the driver's side. I'm wondering if maybe I can just replace that boot and fill it back up.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thoughts? Suggestions?

The boot just keeps dust out. There is another seal further inside keeping the fluid in. You should replace the rack.
Hopefully nothing else got bent, it is very hard to tell though until you have the wheels aligned and see if it is able to be brought into alignment.

RE: EG rack and pinion
I had it inspected, and they said the sub-frame is OK. I asked them to check the tie rods too, the said they are OK but I think I will have to wait until it's being aligned to be sure of that.
Are there any other parts that might get bent in this type of accident?
