Default electrical problems

I'm having electrical problems in my 85 Civic. My instrument panel won't light up when I turn on the headlights, my windshield wipers only go one speed and quit working when I turn on the headlights,my turn signals don't work but my hazard lights do, and my temperature guage goes up when I turn on the headlights. Can anybody help me?

Default RE: electrical problems

Usually "When I turn on device Y, device X quits working" means they share a ground wire, and it's not grounded any more. But I think the wipers/turn signals/headlights are also all wrapped up in the same (rather expensive) switch assembly in the column.

It's also quite possible that every single bulb that lights up the instrument panel is burnt out, but also could be the fuse, the dimmer control, or a bad ground.
