Default emergency!! need help!!

hi, i have an emergency and i need help as soon as possible. i have a 97 civic lx (110k). about two weeks ago, i got a problem with the vehicle speedometer sensor, it started to malfunction (manual transmission). at about the same time, i got the 'check engine' light on, and randomly about every two or three days, the alternator fuse started to blow out. i checked in autozone for code of malfunction, and they told me code 41 (privamy oxygen sensor). they told me to change the alternator, cuz it wasn't working, so i changed it, but it didn't solve the problem. the alternator fuse is blowing, and this problem prevents the alternator from charging the battery, so the car dies (drive few days on the battery only, and the battery dies). now, when i put in a new alternator fuse, it blows right away. my question is, is the speed sensor somehow related to the fuse blowing, or is it some other electrical problem? if anyone knows, please let me know ASAP. thanks!

it is still possable that it is linked to the problem, but it sounds like one of your wireing harnesses has been rubing against the frame, and the insulation wore off, and so it keeps shorting out, thats my guess

thanks for replying. i read about the problem with the speed sensor from the other posts, and they all basically said that the sensor dies after about 2 or 3 weeks, do you know what happens after it stops working completely? does the car stop driving, or just the speedometer doesnt work?

I understand that it's a 90% possibility of a short somewhere, but I dont know if it's related to the speed sensor or not because I unplugged the speedsensor from the start of the problem, and the car was working fine. The fuse blew out after about 2-3 days, and everything just got worse after that. Now, right when i start the car, the fuse blows right away. thanks again!
