Default Fuel gauge problem

I've got a manual 98 Civic EX. A week and a half ago I drove my car til the gas light came on (opps), filled it all the way up, and nowthe fuel gaugewon't go down. I took the cluster apart assuming it was just stuck, and it moves around a little bit tighter than the other gauges, but thats to be expected (it normally stays up when the car is off, does it not? None of the other gauges do that). Anyhow, I pushed the fuel gauge to half way, right around the gas I should have left in my tank, I went out to my car, started it, andthe fuel gaugeimmediately went back to the top and will not drop. Any ideas what could be causing this and how to fix it?

About a month ago I did an LED conversion of the cluster and put LED flexstrips behind the gauges, but I was very cautious about the clearance of everything and when I took my cluster apart today I made surethe flexstrip behind the gaugewasn't touching anything and it wasn't. So I somewhat doubt that could be the reason, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

Default RE: Fuel gauge problem

Troubleshoot the fuel sending unit above the gas tank below the rear seats.
