Gas Pedal problem 94 honda civic 4 door
I am thinking of buying a 94 civic 4 door auto vtec. 189k miles transmission does not jerk and seems to run good and is in excellent body condition. The cruise control and AC also do not work.
it has been lowered and the hood of the car drivers side does not close all the way, is this normal?
Also when pushing on the gas pedal it sort of jumps back at you. I can't explain it but it feel loose or like something towards the engine part of the car is loose.
I don't know much about cars and am concerned these are some major problems.

If you're saying the gas pedal seems stuck when you first start to press it, then it jumps free, that is usually simply dirt in the throttle body. If it's a bad cable instead, replacing it is not very expensive.
Lowering the car would have nothing to do with whether the hood closes properly. There is a problem there.
If you're not doing the work yourself, it could legitimately cost more than $1000 to get the A/C working again. Major A/C work is expensive.

MK got a good point on the AC..if you brought yourself a tool set & download the honda service manual then you can do anything with your civic.
Check it out:
100 piece tool set: $80
Hydraulic Jack from auto zone: $25
Jack STANDS from Autozone: $25
Downloading the Honda Service Manual from this forum: Free
Do-It-Yourself Instructions on how to replace AC components: Free(thank You Google).
You can go to Autozone or Any major auto parts store & rent special tools that help you do what you have to do with the AC.You give the auto parts store a deposit & you get your deposit back when you bring all the tools back.
Just remember....read the Honda service manual first(AC section)..troubleshoot..then know what parts need to buy...google a DIY(like "DIY+Civic+AC-Compressor)..then rent from them.
I know it seems like alot but you don't have to be a mechanic or go to auto school to know how a car works. :-)
