Gas tank release cable
I own a 2002 Honda Civic Ex. In order to open my gas tank cover I have to go into my trunk and manually release the cable for it to open. I was wondering if this is an easy fix or if I need to go to the dealership. Also wondering if this is a common thing in civics for the cable to go. Its been like this for like two years (bought it brand new in 02) and just haven't gotten around to it with all the other problems I have had with it. I think I just bought a lemon....
if you do a search, this is not an uncommon problem though for your year it's not very common yet. you can buy a new lever or if the actual cable is broken and the lever is fine, then you need to replace the cable instead.
Regarding the fix, download your year's manual here:

have a friend who is good with cars help you fix this.
you will need to scroll down to find your year.
