My 95 civic ex has the usual prob the spedo won't work until it warms up about half hour of driving. I haven't a clue if it is the vss or what the vss is attached to. Possibly the spedo itself. If I would change spedo is there a how to to get it out and what clusters from other cars that are better etc will fit. Mine has a tach and is a auto. thank you

Your thread must have gotten overlooked. I'm sure someone like RonJ will help you once he sees the thread.

It would also help if your post wasn't so difficult to read. Try throwing in a few grammatical tools like periods to make your post make sense. I had to re-read it a few times to finally understand you.


Your cluster is already the best one you can get for your car, so no need to upgrade to anything. It has a tach which is the main thing people care about and that's really the only difference between the various clusters... that and redline on the tach, but your redline matches your engine already so you're all set.

Does your odometer work consistently or does it start/stop working at the same time the speedometer does?

 

Ya I understand you completely I just ramble on. The odometer quits when the spedo quits and no engine light is on. Another question will a manual vss work on a auto. I have the whole assembly off a manual but look alittle not alot different thought about trying to switch the whole thing.

 

It sounds like the problem is the VSS or the wiring. Since they quit working simultaneously the cluster is fine. The manual VSS will not work on an automatic.
