You could just splice into the ignition wire and run an inline fuse, that way if you want to add more you can just keep splicing into the fused line.
More you add though, the dimmer everything'll get.

I wired mine to my 12v socket. Reason being I like it looking like it slowly turns on when in transition form day to light. I dunno... its jus me I guess.

I don't suggest it, but I actually have all my electronics (gauge lights, auxiliary fogs, halos, LED's, etc.) coming directly off my battery. I found that if I put enough stuff on it, it wouldn't short anything out!!! I just ran a long wire behind my dash and had stuff jumping off it going to whatever needs power. Wierd, but it adds my own flair to it.

eventually it will blow a fuse, to run stuff off other things with factory fuses.

Hi

I just fitted some blue interior neons in the footwells that need a 12v source. I can't seem to find any way of getting wires through from the area under the glove compartment or any other, so i can send wires through to the bonnet, and into the battery.....any ideas? I drive a Civic sport, coupe (yr 2000). Otherwise....the fuses are just behind the coin drop down thing by the steering. I tried hooking the neon lights red wire into a fuse end, but no success....where should I put the (-)?? Theres the (+) which will be the power in, but to complete the circuit, where can I put it? (how does putting it on a bolt create a circuit?).....Any help that can get this sorted would be appreicated!!!!!!!!!!!

the negative is just a ground wire so it just needs to be bolted to metal. i dont know how it works but it does.

Ideas for a positive source? I can't get to the abttery and I want to avoid splicing into exisiting live wires. THe fuse box is there, but wrapping wire around one of the fuse's metal parts doesn't seem to work???

You don't have to splice anything. Look for the biggest bulb on the back of the gauge cluster, and wrap the red wire (cut back + expose wire) around the base of the bulb, and screw it back in. Connect the black wire to a bolt nearby on the frame. That's it.
