Default HELP on Buying Integra

I am looking to buy this 1992 integra with a b18a1, and when i started it it sounded like there was a tapping sound or knock. When i pressed the gas , you couldnt hear the tap/knock anymore, and itdid drivepretty good. I just started playing with hondas and i dont know much bout them yet. I always used to be a domestic guy. Im really into this car, but i am a little concerned about the noise.

Thanks for the help.

some of the rockers might need to be adjusted ( i think thats what they are called) the piece that the cams push up on, if you have the guide/how to book, it tells how to do it, but at certain points during the rotation of the motor there is supposed to be a certain amount of space between them, it's not that hard to adjust them if you have some simple tools like sockets, and the shim stock (i forget what the distance is), and some wrenches. the same thing happened to me when i bought a civic i dont have anymore, when the motor is slow you can hear it but not when it speeds up you cant.
im not saying this is the problem but it could be

+1; it sounds like a valve clearance problem to me as well. The clearances are listed on a sticker under the hood. I have not done this adjustment but it does look pretty straightforward. The main concern is that it needs to be done on the car after it's been cooled overnight.

Like any maintenance issue, prolonged use without correcting the problem can lead to bigger problems. It's always a gamble.
