Just received a letter from Honda Canada which states they are extending the warranty to 8 years for problems with "coolant seepage" from the engine block casting in year 2006 to early 2009 Civic model years. The letter is titled "Warranty Extension: Engine Overheats or Leaks Coolant". Anyone have specific procedures to detect the problem. Are there visual signs to be seen? Is it just a matter of closely monitoring the coolant level for frequent topping up? Our vehicle is a 2007 Civic EX with VIN 2HGFA15857H0xxxxx 112,000 kMs on the odometer and no detectable problems other then needing to top up the coolant slightly every oil change or so.
