Honda Fuel & Temp Gauge Not Working
I have 1999 Civic and 2-3 weeks ago my low fuel was not working so i removed my gauge cluster and pulled off both pins and removed the back plate looking for the light/burnt bulb as i thought it was behind that gauge. When i discovered that it wasn't there i put the back plate back on and when i went to reattach the needles i could not get those pins back in those tiny little,to me your working blind because i couldn't see the holes so i had the temp. gauge needle in and i pushed on it and it snapped so i ordered a broken gauge from ebay because all i needed was a needle. When it arrived i attempted to again put in the needles with no success,it was at this time that some bad words began coming out of my mouth which of course go the attention of my wife as is often the case when i get frustrated. She offered to help and i agreed to let her try and we think she got them in so i went to see if these needles moved and they but with quite a bit of drag so not knowing any better i reinstalled the cluster and wouldn't you know they were not moving so back to the table w/the cluster. I removed the pins and applied some WD-40 applied to the pin holes,i then reinserted the pins and spun them around numerous times,i removed and used more WD 3-4 more times, they and upon spinning them around numerous times again they seemed to be a little easier so i reinstalled the cluster without the back plate just to see if they would work and they didn't so i don't know what to do at this point outside of buying a new cluster which isn't cheap. any anyone can give me would be tremendously appreciated.
