my 01 civic lx's hood wont shut all the way. theres a 1/2" gap between the hood and grille. i can push down on it and it feels springy. the rubber bumpere anent holding it up and ive pushed the hood latch assy. as far down as it will go. any ideas would be helpful.

i have that too. i just have to push the "hood pop" lever back in after i pull it and it'll catch.

 

which hood pop lever are you talking about? the one inside the car or the one under the hood? its almost like the hook under the hood is up too high, because it catches but doesnt pull the hood down to where it needs to be.

 

there is 2 bolts on latch where hook is u have 2 prob adjust it. probaly slammed hood to hard and moved latch.

 

the latch is down all the way. the safety hook is too high i think . is there a way to adjust that or is it all one assy.?
