Default Horn replacement question...

So, I find myself continually annoyed by how dinky and puny my 2000 civic's horn sounds. The issue is, here in TN we have some SERIOUSLY bad drivers, and I feel it's time to replace my stock horn with one a little more beefy. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to honk at fools on the interstate only to find myself wondering if they even heard the damn thing.

So my question is, does anyone know how many dB a stock 2000 civic ex horn puts out? The horns I find at Autozone etc are rated in dB and I don't really have a basis for comparison. I don't want a super loud trucker horn lol, just something with a lil' bit more oomf

I am also very interested in what responses others may have. The other day, some guy cut me off and then immediately made a SLOW right turn. He almost hit me, then I almost hit him. I hit the horn, heard the puny meep, then just sped away as fast as I could out of embarrasment.

ya, same here. My horn hasnt worked in a long time and its an easy fix but I havent bothered with it because I hate the way it sounds. If somebody bothers me I usually just rev the engine followed by the finger and thats usually enough to get there attention.

Not as a threat or anything. just cause its loud enough to get them to look, in place of the non working horn.
