Default How do you check the air filter?

I just got a 01 Civic ex the other day and was checking all the levels, etc. I tried to open up the case for the air filter but it wont open. Others cars I've had just have clips that you open up but on my cars it wont budge. Do i have to unscrew anything? Thanks in advance!!
