hi i have 2000 civic ex i broke a part onit i dont know what its called or what it does i have already taken it to many auto shops and know body knows what it is i even check a haynes repair manual and still cant find it were is the best place were i might beable to find out what it is or what it does since i broke it my cars idles high so it must be some what important can someone please help me

What were you doing when it broke?

 

its under the breather hose it goes in a coolinet hose and it has avacum hose that goes on the top of it and a hose on the side of it that goes to the cold air intake tube and there is some kind of spring in side of it

 

I've looked at the pictures at Majestic but I don't see anything like that. The only thing that has coolant and a connection to the breather is the thing with two metal pipes welded together but that seems like a rather indestructable item. I hate to say it but the simplest thing may be to just drive to your local Honda dealer and point at it and they'll get one for you. Or go to a junkyard where they have the same car and take it off that one.

 

Is it this thing? (obviously this a part that gets broken regularly)
