Question I don't kow what this is! 1990 Civic Dash...something adjuster

I just got in a 1990 Civic Hatchback, and this here adjuster's purpose and functionality is not very clear to me. It's found on the left side of the steering wheel; does anyone know what it does and how it works?

Looks like a switch to change where the air for climate control is coming from. Lever on one side, air is being brought in from the outside, switch it over to have air being recycled within the cabin of the car. I couldn't tell you which side is which though.

I would also suggest for you to remove the link in your sig unless the rules have changed recently...

That is the fresh air lever with it closes you get air from the blower motor only with it open you get air from both it has nothing to do with recycling the air within the cabin of the car I know that the early civics and crx had them
