Default Idle Question

I have a 94 Honda Del Sol Si, 5 spd. I have an idle question...

It seems the idle is low, probably around 700/800 when the car is warm and either in neutral or in gear and has a somewhat rough idle...BUT sometimes the idle will jump to say 1000 and the car will smooth right out and feels perfect.

Is the idle adjustable on this vehicle, or is there a sensor or something somewhere that is going or went bad?

I was thinking idle air control valve, MAP sensor, Mass Air Flow Sensor, I just dunno there's so much darn electronics on this thing I'm lost.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Matt

Idle speed is programmed into the ECU and feedback will fight your attempts to change it by tinkering under the hood. It should be 750 with the engine warmed up, higher when it is cold. If it really is rough at 750 (use an accurate tachometer not the one on the dash) there is a problem.

That's true...

And I would recommend using tachometer instead the one on the dash since it would be more accurate..
