so i have a 2000 5 speed sedan with about 120,000 miles on it. Just put a cold air intake and am working on the exaust. i dont have a whole lot of money but want to get more power out of my car. I was thinking about putting in racing plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, ignition coil, and a sport compact ignition. Don't know whether to put a new distributor. but the real question i have is will that mess up my alternator or will i have to preplace that too?

 

The real question that you should ask first is will that stuff make your car faster, and I'm quite confident the answer is no. The stock ignitions are pretty good.
