Default Ignition switch

I just bought a civic, first honda, it is a n LX with a manual transmission. Everything was fine until this morning I tried to start it and the ignitiobn key would not turn.It will only move a little back and forth. Any Help would be appreciated. I am unsure whether it is the switch or something with the steering wheel lock. Thanks

sometimes, you need to move the steering wheel left then right then left until the steering wheel lock gets disengaged while you try to turn the ignition.

It's some kind of safety mechanism. It only happens when you lock the steering wheel after you turn offthe ignition.
