Be sure to havesomeone start the car while your finger is in there. That's the only way to tell for sure.

Wouln't that also mean that the exhuast pipe below it would be somewhat dented also than?

That is a space between the brace that bolts up under the block to the transmission, you guys are very funny about " sticking you're figer in there, I don't even have my brace on there, defintly would not dent , it would crack if something hit it
