immoboliser/ignition problem

immoboliser/ignition problem
I've recently bought a 2nd hand Honda Civic 1.5lsi 93/94 Lreg
The immoboliser light constantly flashes even when driving.
I now can't start the car using the key, it will bump start easily & the starter motor & battery are fine.
I'm unsure whether the immoboliser is factory fitted/standard issue. do you have any idea how to bypass the immoboliser, where it's located & if this is a common problem?
We think the problem lies either with the immoboliser or ignition switch??
