Installing a New Performance CAI (Questions)
Hi All
I have a few questions about installing a performance CAI.
Firstly, I see that my current stock intake 'tubing' has what seems to be 1 sensor and 1 other piece of pipe coming out of it. Will a new, say AEM brand CAI be able to accomodate them, or will I have to do a bit of modification to be able to fit a new CAI? Is the installation process simple for installing a performance CAI?
I know a good CAI can increase horse power and seeing as I'm not planning on turbo'ing this civic, I figure thats going to be my first engine based upgrade.
Thanks in advance

sri = short ram intake. It stays inside of the engine bay insted of going outside of it like a cold air intake. That means slightly better throttle responce and no chance of hydrolocking your engine. Drbyers said yes to your question meaning that the AEM intakes have the holes that you need for the sensor and the vac hose.

Awesome, thanks
I seem to recall that VAC hoses have compressed gasses in them right? Will I need to decompress anything or will it be ok to straight swap over the pipes over to the new CAI or SRI?

No they just have a vacuum in them while the engine is running, it's fine to pull them off. All the one that is on the intake now that you need to remove does is put a little bit of oil back into the engine to get burnt up. I can't remember why this needs to be done but I just replaced the hose with a breather. (No real gain from doing this soI guess it is just a personal preference)
