Interior Heating Problem?**
hey. so i go in an accident where my ac condenser and radiator where damaged. I changed the radiator and had the coolent bleed out.... car now runs fine without over heating
but now my car is not heating the interior properly. it takes very long time for the car to get just a lil warm, nothing compared to before the accident.
i was told that the ac condenser has nothing to do with heating the interior so the problem couldn't come from there. I was also told to check out my heater core but i don't know where this is located or if that is where the problem is coming from.
any suggestions to what the problem might be? or where is the heater core located in my 2002 honda civic coupe ex.
-thanks!

I would check or change the thermostat incase it is stuck shut. Most likely it is either the thermostat or the heater core(maybe a clogged radiator). Not sure where the heater core is on that model but it will be under the dash im sure.
the thermostat looks fine to me... not sure what it suppose to look like if its broken but it opens and closes fine. the radiator i put in after accident was brand new so i dont think there be a clog
do u know what i should look for on the heater core that might give me sign that it is not working properly anymore?
-thanks for reply

well the only thing that I can think of is do this, two hoses will go into the firewall connecting to the heatercore. One will be hot and if it is completly cologged then the other will be cold or barley warm depending on how clogged it is. I once unclogged a heatercore by doing this. The I determined which hose in the firewall was barley warm vs the hot one. I turned off the car. let it cool down a but so I dont get burned. Then I cut the barley warm hose and the Hot hose. I then got a high pressure blow gun and a hoseclamp and hooked them up to the barley warm hose (make sure that you deflect the hot hose so you dont get crap all over your engine. point it down or hook up an extra hose.) Give it air and the air should reverse the things clogging the heatercore and blow them out. What the air is doing is going in the reverse of how the water usually travels in the heatercore. When you make the final connection hook up the hoses in the same way as they came off. Let me know if this works, depending on how clogged it is it might not work. Price out a new one maybe around 50.00, I just looked on my civic and it does not look too bad. On other cars you have to take out the dash like on a taurus. Let us know.
