does the dome light work whenever you open any of the doors? or does it just not turn on when you open the driver's door?

The problem is probably that the little door switch is corroded. Carefully remove the door jam dome light switch from the door jam, take it apart, and clean out the inside contacts of the button's slider thing.

To make those other lights turn on when the door opens, you have 2 options:
1. If you want the lights to come on when you open a door, you must wire the switches to a constant 12V power source (fused) and then run the ground wire to every door jam switch. To make it only come on when you open a certain door, wire them to that door's door jam switch.

2. If you want them to turn on both when you open the door and also when you turn the dome light switch manually on, you must wire them directly do the dome light.
