Left Front tire, making screeching noise
Alright guys, when i press my brake my left front tire is making a screeching noise. Its happening when im slowing down by pressing the noise, its making this sharp screeching noise. It sounds like something is grinding up against a metal or something. Im guessing its the brake wear sensor letting me know my pads are done

My dad's truck did that once. turned out that one of two bolts holding the brake in place broke and when he braked it let the whole caliper pivot on the one remaining bolt and scrape against the inside of the rim. Could be a totally different problem of course though.

RE: Left Front tire, making screeching noise
I'm a custom wheel specialist at kal tire, it can be one of a couple things, could be your squeeler (designed to make that noise when your brake pads need replacing), or a rock caught between your brake pad and the rotor, probably your squeeler though, head into a tire shop and ask for a brake inspection, let them know about the sound, they usually give free brake inspections.
I highly doubt it'd be more complicated than that, they usually give out free brake inspection so they can sell brakes to you, and if your civic is older, and you need new front pads, you may want to upgrade to ceramic pads, their designed to last longer

I am an ASE certified tech: A4 - Suspension and Steering, A5 - Brakes, A7 - Heating and Air Conditioning, P2 - Master Parts Specialist, and C1 - Service Consultant. Brake pad wear sensors will squeal "all the time" and the noise goes away when braking. So it is MOST LIKELYNOT the pad wear sensor. Cheap brake pads squeak a lot, also "glazed" rotors and pads will squeal too (you can use sandpaper to remove the glaze, but usually they will glaze again). I always recommend ceramic pads (because of low noise and low dusting) and new rotors when doing a brake job. I recommend an inspection, (which is usually free at most places) like turgodd suggested.
