Default Lower control arm bushings

How difficult is it to install new LCA bushings in a 95 Civic? Is it something a normal Joe can do or is it something a mechanic would have to do. If it is something a mechanic would have to do, about how much am I looking at? Thanks.

If you can get the old ones out i'd get Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings... don't require a press to install and are probably cheaper than buying 6 OEM bushings.

My friend that sold me the car said that the old ones are already out. I dunno, if it's possible to be driving without them. As far as my mechanical experience...um...I can't work on engines or anything but I can do basic stuff like replacing struts/shocks, doing brake jobs.

Nah you can't be driving with no bushings. I think he meant "out" as in they are shot.

LCA bushings are simple... just getting the old ones out and the new ones in is the hard part. The auto parts stores rent tools, and I am pretty sure you can rent the press you need to press out the bushings. Or you can take off the LCAs and go to a shop that can do it for you.

they shouldn't be that bad. I had a shop replace one and align it for 150.

They told me there would be no labor charge if all they had to do was unbolt it, let it hang down, and press/replace the bushing then reinstall.
