Default Maint Req'd & Factory Scheduled Maintenance

My Maint Req'd is blinking when I start my engine. I purchased this 2003 Civic LX used two and a half months ago. It has about 59,700 miles on it. Is this light on because I need the 60,000 mile Honda Civic maintenance done? Should I go to the dealer to have this done, or should I go to one of those 15 minute lube places? I trust the dealership more, but I think if I know what I'm doing I can get a better deal from the 15 minute guys as long as they don't sell me service extras. Also, how urgent is this? I'm not due for an oil change. Is it okay to wait a week and 200 miles to do this?

The maintenance light is a friendly reminder indicating the need to change the motor oil. It just so happens that you also need other 60k mile service. If I remember correctly, this involves replacing the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor, as well as possibly draining and replacing the coolant and transmission fluid. Be sure to use OEM replacement ignition parts (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/). I am no proponent of those quick lube joints. Go to a reputable local mechanic.
