Unhappy mini me in 97 dx. need help

So, i snapped a rod in my D16y7. The only motor I could find in my budget was a z6. That is fine with me. So, I rebuild this mini me and now have it in the car. But, I have run into a few problems. I have the V-tec ecu from the 95 with the V-tec harness. The problem, is that my 97 harness goes directly to the ecu through the firewall and inside the passenger kick panel. The 95 harness has no connections for the ecu or length to go through the firewall. I'm lost. Someone, anyone please help.

ok this is not a mini me swap, a mini me is using your d16y7 block and puttting the d16y8 or the d16z6 head on it, now the d16z6 is a obd1 (92-95) motor and your car is a (obd2a) 96-98. you cannot use the d16z6 harness, you will need to put your old harness and intake manifold and stuff onto the new motor. now for the ecu issue you will need to buy a obd2a to obd1 conversion plug rewire.com sells them. and also on ebay. after all that is done you will need to wire vtec up yourself from the vtec solnoid to the new ecu.

If you just swapped the block and head out, keeping the OBDII manifolds and controls, it would run with your stock DX ECU. No VTEC of course.

the obd2 has a crank position sensor and the d16z6 is obd1 and dont have a crank position sensor. there is a way to trick the ecu if you feel like rewiring or you can just buy a conversion obd2a to obd1 plug and get a p28 ecu and have vtec and everything will work.

Okay. So, what I have done so far is ordered a OBD2 to OBD1 distributor adapter. I have a P28 ecu. I'm going to order the ecu jumper from rywire to make that ecu work. Now I am just looking for some info on where to plug the vtec wires in the P28 OBD1 ECU.

I believe that I would connect to D6 and A4 on the OBD1 P28 ecu.
I'm not sure so if anyone has conformation or other info, it would be much
appreciated.

Thanks Again to all.
