Default Need help! Civic dies on hwy

I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX with about 171,000 miles on it. Recently my mechanic chabged out timming belt and a bunch of other stuff, some gaskets, camshaft and crankshaft seal. Well bout a week later my car shut off on the highway, my check engine light, battery light and oil light came on and it was as if my car would only go about 15 mph. Then I had it towed and 3 weeks later it haPpened again. The first time this happened my mechanic said they found nothing wrong, the second time they replaced the camshaft position sensor because the 1361 code was what came up when the car died but after I took it home the light came on again and honda diagnosed it with code 420 catalyst issue. So there telling me I need a new catalyst converter but my mechanic says the cylinder head is the problem. *any thought????

Yes, I'd take it to a different mechanic. It sounds way too su****ious that this happened after all the work was done.

I agree, find a good mechanic.
