Default need help with cooling fan

ok i have a 95 honda civic and it has an overheating problem. i have tracked the problem down to the fan. the fan is comming on but not long enough. it will come on for 2 sec. and off again. a few times and then the car starts to get too hot. with the temp outside being 85 and the car sitting in my drive way, it takes about 5 min before it starts to get too hot. once the temp gauge gets to the middle the fan dosnt come on at all. i need a way to hook the fan to run all the time whem the engine is on. i have a switch in the cabin but its a pain in the ***. how would i wire the fan to make it do what i need?

Default RE: need help with cooling fan

Perhaps more troubleshooting is in order? You can test the fan motor by jumping 12volts to the power terminal on the fan. An easy way to do this is disconnect your negative terminal on your car battery and run a wire from the battery +/- terminals to the fan +/- terminals (disconnecting the plug first). Hope this helps.
