ok i just bought a h22a to swap into my civic however i need some parts for the engine and do not know what year it is all i have is the engine code and the serial number on the block i tried to call the local honda dealer but they laughed at me and said they could not help me in this area. the fella i bought it from said he just had imported it from japan like 6 months ago but i know from reading that there is like 3 different types of jdm h22a engines so which do i have and what year any and all help would be greatly appricated thanks

ok i see the date code but how do i decipher it? there is 3 round dials one with the arrow pointed at the letter A. the middle one the arrow is pointed at the number 6. and i cant read the last dial?

 

it's the 3rd dial then. it will have two numbers. for exampe, 9 and 1, for "'91"
