Check fuel and spark.

First do the easy things. Check your spark plugs, make sure they are not worn or badly encrusted with carbon deposits or ash.
Check your wires (if you know they're very old just replace them). You can check the wires by running the engine and soaking all the wires with a spray bottle with water in it. You want to check if you notice a misfire when you soak the wires (bad wires arc out easier when wet), or if you notice any arcing (the spark jumping out of the wire to the nearest ground).
Check your cap and rotor. Look for corrosion on the metal contacts in side the cap, and check for corrosion on the metal contact on the rotor. A bit of corrosion is normal on anything but a brand new cap, you're looking for heavy deposits.

Then have your fuel pressure checked with a fuel pressure gauge.

Get back to us if this doesn't help you.

Hey i have changed my spark plugs and wires, and then reset my computer, i earsed all the codes that the computer had. so my check engine light when off... After about 30-50 miles the check engine light goes back on, saying the same thing. Could this be because i have a swaped engine, and something is wrong>>? Orcould my computer be misreading something. But i have not checked my fuel pressure yet.
Thanks
