Default No Low RPM power

Hey, im having some troubles with my 1999 Civic EX. Whenever i put my foot into the gas (more than 50%) under 3500 rpm the engine kinda of sputters (not making any weird noises, just tries to accelerate, then lets off a bit, then tries again...etc) until it gets past 3500, then pulls strong like normal. When the engine is cold, is usually works fine below 3500, plus if u dont step on it it doesnt do it either. Once the engine gets up to normal running temps though it feels like the clutch is slipping under 3500 rpm when you step on it (and yes, i do have my foot all the way off the clutch ).

I already tried STP fuel injector cleaner, and if it does make any difference i have been running 89.5 octane gas w/ 10% ethenol. If anybody knows what the cause of this might be let me know. I'm thinkin about checking the fuel filter then spark plugs/wires if that doesnt work.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance, Evan

Sounds like the dizzy to me. It might have moisture trapped in it. Remove the cap and wipe it down... or like PC said, just replace the damn thing.

Haha, well i would go that far, i would probably just laugh in your faces. You guys have been too much of a help to shoot you, then i wouldnt have anywhere to go when something else goes wrong (even tho its not supposed to cuz its a honda )

So do u think the whole thing will have to be replaced, or just wipe out the inside like remmy said?

thanks for all the help, Evan
