Default not so good vibrations

I was wondering if anyone could help me... When i drive my civic around 70 or 80 mph, i get a strange vibration thing going on. Its not a nrmal vibration though, it pulsates up and down... First it will start in my seat, then travel up to my steering wheel, and then go baack down. Ive nvr experienced anything like this. It is also independant of engine speed since it is constant with the clutch in or out.

Thanks,

Kyle

Have a reputable shop balance all four wheels.

Just a wild guess, but I think that Josh and his nommnomm bunny girlfriend occasionally break the sound barrier on the freeway.

are you judging my sexual preferences. what its ok for gene to like cats but not me to like bunnies? ok now back on topic, could the it be loose or worn motor mounts, the higher revs at 70 and 80 causing the engine to shake more thus shaking car?

(Correction. Gene claimed to love cats, but his true love was clearly the upside down opossum.)

By the way, bad motor mounts would generally cause vibration on acceleration not constant speed.

This is a classic symptom of having a wheel out of balance. Also if you drive much like that, you can start to wear the tire very unevenly. Because, literally, only one side ever touches the road as it bounces up and down at highway speed. Such a tire must of course be replaced.

I had a similar problem last year with my civic. 2 of my steelies were bent. Go to a shop and have them do like an alignment check, it should cost about 20bux and it should tell you if the problem is in any way related to your suspension.
