Default Parking Lights Help

Hi Everyone,

I have a 97 civic coupe DX. My front parking lights don't work. When I put the lights on parking, my dash lights up, my license plate light and tail lights go on, but not my front parking lights.

My signal lights and my hazard signal all works fine. Any ideas? There is almost no info in the service manual...

Check for a disconnected, broken, or corroded ground wire connection from the parking lights.

Thanks for your reply.

I thought the parking lights were the same lights/bulbs as the signal lights?

Edit: Wow, I've had a hard time trying to figure this out. Yes the same bulb but the signal and parking light have separate filaments in the bulb. Check whether the parking light filaments are blown. Or were the wrong type of bulbs used?

Hey bud,

That is probably it. I'll check that tonight. Thanks again for the tip.

Turn the lights on and wiggle the headlint/turn signal switch. See if any of the lights flicker.. It could be a failing switch. It can be a major repair if it involves pulling the wheel/air bag. Steering colums are intentionally difficult to take apart.
OP said: "My front parking lights don't work. When I put the lights on parking, my dash lights up, my license plate light and tail lights go on, but not my front parking lights."

The proper functioning of the dash, license, and tail lights suggests the switch is fine.

So the bulb only has 1 filament. Upon further inspection, it's not even the right connections or bulb hoslter(is this even the right term)....I am fuming right now. The wiring has been butchered.

Going to a junk yard for some parts after work. Gonna tackle this tonight.

Thanks again for your assitance.
