power steering question
I have been having a mild wobbling for months while accelerating out of turns and thought it might be a power steering issue because I have tried replacing almost everything up front except the axle or rack and pinion. I thought if I tried checking for air bubbles in the power steering tank it might indicate a problem. I had a leak quite a while back, but I repaired the line I thought, and I havnt been losing fluid. Maybe my repair wasnt air tight though.
With the cap off, On turning the wheel all the way left or right, there were no bubbles, but at the end of each turn there was a phphhh noise like a silent fart, and the level of fluid would fluctuate slightly just for that instant. is this what I would normally see?
the vehicle is a 97 crv. since the problem started I have new tires,wheels,shocks,inner/outer tie rods, rotors, wheel bearings, and alignment. the ball joints are all ok. the wobble is only right after a turn in either direction. the front sway bar links look kinda shabby, but I didnt think they would cause these symptoms.
any thoughts?
