problem with my ef
So as you may or may not know, my 91 si had a swap to a d16y7. 2 weeks ago i had trouble starting it. I was told it was the fuel filter. So I put in a new one. Well a few days later I put my new header and cat back exhaust on but I didn't have my cat in the mail yet. So I started it with the open header to get a kick out of how loud it was. I went to start it again about an hour later so my friend could hear and it wouldnt start. He said maybe it was the electronic fuel pump. So I unhooked the batterie to restart the pump and voila, it started. I decided to let it sit for about 5 more days until i got the cat in from UPS. So monday morning the cat came in and I threw it on. To my surprise it wouldn't start; again. I decided to have it towed to my mechanic the same day. He wasn't able to look at it until tuesday morning. I get a call tuesday morning from my mechanic and he asked how long before the car dies, well I told him I couldnt get the ****er to start. He told me he didn't have any trouble getting it started. So he decided to let it set for a few hours. 4pm rolls around and he went to start it and it fired right up. He told me he couldn't find anything wrong, so I drove it home. Well today I go and get new tires and as I go to leave, it barely started then puttered off and died. For the next 30 minutes I couldn't get it started. Does anyone have any clue what it could be? I'm thinking distributor, fuel pump, and I was told maybe "slave cylinder"?
The tests tell you whether the fuel pump and the wires in and out of the main relay are good. Do these tests first. If all is fine, I'll post tests for the main relay itself.
