So i recently got a 97 coupe and i'm having some issues with the lights. When i turn the car on in the morning and its cold out the dash lights and the rear lights won't come on (the brake lights do come on so i know its not the bulbs)

Once the car is warm if i turn the lights on and off the lights come one and stay on fine.

It seems to be some sort or short or something with the switch but i'm not sure. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have any suggestions?

 

1) Verify that fuses 30 (7.5A) and 32 (7.5A) in the under-dash fuse/relay box are not blown.

2) If the fuses are fine, then your combination switch is likely faulty and needs to be replaced.

The combination switch can be tested as described in the picture.
