Default question bout tranny???

I have a 96 civic dx d16y7 and the fill plug on my manual tranny is stripped and was wondering if i could add fluid to the top of it right under the starter(the bolt with spring) any knowledge of this would be greatly appriciated

You can add trans oil from where the speed sensor is located.

Speed sensor is a good idea. I think it will be hard to fill through the breather because air won't be able to get out. Of course to get a proper fill, you will have to drain it all out and measure the amount of new fluid you put in (2.1 quarts). Ordinarily you'd just check the level at the fill bolt.
