Hi I'm new to the forum. I don't personally own a civic, but maintain my gf's. She owns an 06 civic and my question(well her question) Is if there is a cheaper alternative to the Honda brand tranny fluid? For example, in my bmw e34 I use saab coolant, its the same exact thing as the bmw coolant but half the friggen price. I always try to use the highest quality fluids, but sometimes its to hard to put up the money. Also she has just over 80,000 miles and I've only ever changed the fluid once. Should I just do the old "drop and fill" or completely drain it of all 6 qts. of tranny fluid?
