but ya at least my civic reception sucks unless the antena is fully out... which looks ugly that way so thats why i upgraded to satalite SIRIUS RADIO.... cost more money..... the cost of the radio plus like 13.95 a month fee BUT IT RULES!!!!!!!!!
so if you seriously want a clean sound to the radio.... upgrade to satalite radio.... either Sirius or XM then the only time your reception will be bad is in a heavily tree overhead area, bank drive thru overheads and tunnels those are the only problems with reception with sat radio

RE: reception
My factory radio decent reception, but when i put my sony cd-player in it the fm reception sucked. then the antenna broke so nothing. a friend had a dash/window/underseat mountable antenna that has an amplifier in it. as long as there isn't a lot of tree cover it works ok, but because it is inside of a metal car, of course it's not that great, you know what i mean...
for some reason in every vehicle i have owned aftermarket radios reception is not as good. all i can suggest is try another antenna, or a signal amplifier with a noise filter. google that, you will find some, i cannot remember where i saw them at. ar eyou using an aftermarket radio?
