Replacing Bearings
I don't believe so. Removing and installing wheel bearings require a press, which most people don't have. But you can still do most of the work yourself by removing the wheel hub. See the service manual for details. Then take the hub to a shop that will install the new bearing for you.
The noise will also change if you weave slightly side to side.Passenger side went on my 97 2 summers ago. I got it up to about 45mph on a clear highway and just did some slight weaving side to side. as the weight transfers side to side the noise will fade in and out if its a wheel bearing. For example, mine would get QUIETER as I turned right (weight transfers to the left and off the wheel bearing) and then get louder again as I would turn left (which of course transfers more weight back onto it)
