replacing door handle, bolt giving me trouble
Hey guys, I'm trying to replace the rear passenger side, outside door handle on my 95 civic ex. I've run into a little problem with one of the 2 bolts holding the old handle in place. The threaded piece that the bolt screws into has come off the handle and I can't seem to find the right tool to get this thing unscrewed.
I can't fit any sockets around the darn thing and pliers don't seem to hold on tight enough, it just slips whenever i try turning the bolt. Here's a pic of the old handle:
As you can see, the threaded piece popped out of the door handle on one side.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hmm....spray some lube on it, wait a few minutes then try it with the pliers and socket again. Looks like theres a socket size bolt on the inside. Hold the round part with pliers and turn the bolt with socket..or small wrench is even better.

Always fun when the whole car is rusted up like the previous owner was driving it on the surface of the planet Venus. Take a Dremel, etc. and grind it off. Replace the bolt part. The new handle has a new female thread in it.
