Ok. It was off a tooth. I was lining it up where It was perfectly logical, but it did not want to time (proper marks on my engine model). So instead of relying totally on the lines I went and skipped it one tooth on purpose clockwise. Then started it and took timing, It was now way off. So then I skipped two teeth back the other way. This was my AHA moment! The timing dialed in perfectly. By the way before I started the engine I turned the crank by hand to be sure the valves cleared the pistons.

Default ABS flush and bleed

Hi, here's a pretty interesting page, took me quite a while to find it.

http://www.danoland.com/nsxgarage/brakes/abs/abs.htm

As for the honda ABS bleeder tool, a 5/16" 8 point socket fits the ABS bleeder quite well, the pressurized fluid blows into the socket and I let it drain into a pan under the car, a rag wrapped around the extension attached to the socket caught a bit of spray, safety glasses on for this one!

On my 92 EX the ABS solenoid electrical connector is differant from the NSX connector on the linked page, but the concept is the same.

99-00 D16y8 Intake Manifold not working with your 96-98 D16y8 Head? (or vise versa?) Here is why...

I found out the hard way, during my motor swap, that 96-98 IMs are NOT the same as 99-00. They appear to be in almost every aspect, but they ARE different.

The 99-00 Manifolds have an extra air injection system built into them, with these tiny little ports that WILL leak air and cause ridiculous idle surge if you try to attach it to anything other than an OBD2b head.

Here is a pic of the air injection holes.

I ended up bringing mine to a local welding shop and having them seal up the holes. Took em 15 minutes and I was back in business, idle surge free, shortly after.
