Default starting and stalling

hey everyone, new here but not new to cars
i have a 95 civic 1.6 vtec
a few times over the last 6 months i would go to start my car and it would start then stall right away
after about 4 or 5 attempts it would start and life goes on
today it just wouldnt stay running
its at an applebees parking lot so i dont have many tools but i changed the plugs, cap and rotor about 6 or 7 months ago have good wires and im pretty sure its getting fuel
i hear the pump and i tapped on the filter under the hood and it leaked a bit out
and this is after 30 or 40 tries to start it
if i hold the throttle wide open sometimes it would rev real high but still die
and it sounds like it was turned of when it dies it doesnt realy sputter or anything
just as if you turned the key off suddenly
any help woulb be appreciated
thanks, jeff

i went back to the car after some research and it turns out that its the ignition switch
when i turn the key and try to start it dies when i let it go
the cel and other dash lights dont come back on
and its a bit stiff when turning key
can it be lubed or is it just wasted

You likely need to replace the entire lock and switch mechanism.
