If the steering wheel doesn't unlock you will also have to resolve that before you can drive. Maybe you can just turn the shaft that turns the switch with pliers after you have the switch out. Of course you have to be sure it's not going to lock again on you. Also it's going to look like you're trying to steal the car, if anyone around there cares.

It should not be a problem turning the car off, just turn the switch back to off. If that doesn't work, stop the engine by disconnecting the spark plug wires, then disconnect the battery. Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running.

Remote start does NOT unlock the steering wheel.

To drive home, you need to find a wiring diagram for your car, get into that drivers side kick panel, and find your brake light wire, and disconnect the wire comming out of the brain box of your remote start system that connects to your + brake light wire. That should stop the car from shutting off when the brake is applied.

But some of the remote start systems have an auto-shutoff feature that is timed, and/or connected to the tach wire so if the engine RPM gets to high it will shut off as well.

Where did you buy it? and did you install yourself?

to get it home SIMPLE... FIRST FIND OUT HOW LONG THE the autostart feature will run before shuting off automaticaly.... SECOND stop watch set to that time afew mins SHORTER than the run time.....
THIRD simply cut the brake light switch wire going to the alarm!

NOW THIS IS "VERY IMPORTANT"!!!!!!!! BEFORE THE REMOTE STARTER RUN TIME ENDS YOU MUST PARK THE CAR.... kill the remote start and then restart it with the remote!!!! OTHERWISE YOU RISK LOOSING CONTROL OF THE CAR WHEN THE MOTOR SHUTS OFF AUTOMATICALY!!!!!!
just be sure the steering is all freed up with the key in run position and everything still works properly!

get it home and then reconect the brake light wire to the alarm. and fix the problem.....
