Default Steering rack leak-96 civic ex

My 96 EX is leaking inside the boots on both sides. I know most shops will simply replace the rack but I'm curious about replacing the seals on the rack and new boots. Anyone done this and if so, how bad of a job is it in comparison to changing the rack?
Thanks!

You would basically be rebuilding the rack. Much much easier to just replace it.

Since you'd have to take the rack off of the car to take it apart anyway, the job is more complicated than simply swapping out once it is off.

Do like I do go buy some Lucas power steering stop leak. It will slow it down if not stop it. I slowed down a pitman arm seal leak on an old Ford truck. & got three more years of use out of it.
My rack is leaking on one side & I'm just adding a little Lucas when it goes down some.
