My head unit keeps shutting off, so i took the yellow direct to the battery and everything seemed fine. then i put my sub in and the sub and amp are brand new, so the problem is that the sub was working then it just shut off. the amp is on and the protect light isnt on. so maybe my head unit is messing up still?

 

you may have damaged your rca wires, pull the head unit out and hook a different set of rca wires up and run to the amp and see if it works,

 

+1^ or maybe your head units RCA jacks might have been messed up...I suggest you try running new RCA cables and if still nothing then replace your headunit...

 

Check the entire audio wiring harness. Make sure there are no exposed wires that could be shorting the head unit out. It could be cutting out to protect itself.

 

ok sounds good. i think ill try to run the rca off the the rear out put instead of the sub jacks, if that dont work ill run new cables, and if that dont work i will just get a new head unit. ive double and triple checked all my wires. i guess ill just go down the list. thanks for the help
